Privacy policy

Updated 23 August 2026

This website collects personal data in exactly one place: the enquiry form. There are no cookies, no analytics, no social buttons, and no script is loaded from a third-party domain. Even the typefaces are served from our own server, precisely so that opening the page makes no request to anyone else.

Who is responsible

The data controller is SEO S.R.L., Via Roma 163, 73021 Calimera (LE), Italy. VAT 05151910758, entered in the Lecce Companies Register under REA LE - 345763, share capital €10,000 fully paid. For anything concerning your data, write to salentobikerental@gmail.com or call +39 320 4864478.

No data protection officer has been appointed: the company does not fall within the cases where an appointment is mandatory.

What the form collects

Only what is needed to put a quote together:

Alongside the message the server records the IP address the enquiry was sent from, with the date and time. That is there to keep automated submissions out and to deal with abuse, and it is the only item you did not type yourself.

We ask for no payment details, because nothing is paid on this site. We ask for no identity document: the copy is shown when you collect the bikes and never passes through this website.

Why, and on what legal basis

The form data is used to answer you and to prepare the quote — pre-contractual steps taken at your request, under Article 6(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The IP address and timestamp are processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the form working and blocking abuse, under Article 6(1)(f).

We do not use any of it to advertise to you. There is no newsletter, and no list your address is added to.

How long it is kept

Twelve months from the last message exchanged, after which the enquiry is deleted. If a hire actually goes ahead, the accounting records that follow are kept for the longer periods Italian law requires, which is not something we can shorten.

Who else sees it

The form does not go through any external form service: it posts to a script on our own server, which forwards the message by email. Two parties therefore touch the data besides us:

We do not sell, rent or trade data with anyone. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making.

Transfers outside the European Union

The mailbox that receives enquiries is run by a provider that may process messages on servers outside the European Economic Area. If you would rather your message did not travel that way, call instead of writing: the number is at the foot of every page.

Cookies and tracking

This site writes no cookies at all, functional or otherwise. Nothing is stored in your browser. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. The hosting server keeps its own access logs, as any web server does, and those are outside our editorial control.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, for processing to be restricted, for a machine-readable copy, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to salentobikerental@gmail.com: we reply within one month, as the Regulation requires.

If you believe the processing breaches the rules, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority — Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome — or to the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. We keep no archive of earlier versions, because the site is new and this is the first.
